Celebration in the Oaks
If you want to see some amazing Christmas lights, try the light exhibit in City Park. The event is open now through January 1 except for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Children under 3 and Friends of City Park members are free and everyone else is just $9 per person. You can also purchase tickets for the train ride, including an unlimited ride ticket. Teddy Bear Tea
Join St. Nick and Mrs. Clause for a truly magical event at The Roosevelt Hotel. Children enter through the tunnel of Yuletide decoration in the hotel lobby before being treated to tea sandwiches, pastries, and other treats. Parents are treated to some adult-friendly beverages too! Each child receives a specially dressed souvenir toy bear. Christmas in Lafreniere Park
Now through December 31, you can enjoy the wonder and beauty of spectacular holiday lights at Lafreniere Park 3000 Downs Boulevard, Metairie. The Park is decorated for the holidays with holiday lights in a variety of magical displays. You can walk or ride through the exhibit. The New Orleans Polar Express
Ride on an Amtrak train for an adventure based on the popular children’s book and movie. The one-hour train departs from the Union Passenger Terminal, located at 1001 Loyola Avenue. Everyone is encouraged to come in their pajamas for the ride. Hot chocolate and cookies are served during the ride, and everyone receives a souvenir sleigh bell. NOLA ChristmasFest
Come to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to enjoy this year’s NOLA ChristmasFest. Your family will have fun on the rock climbing wall, ice slide, ice skating rink, and carnival rides. There are also opportunities for photos with Santa Claus. Enjoy the Gingerbread House exhibit and the Christmas Tree display.
