Taxotere Side Effects Attorneys

Taxotere® (docetaxel)

Breast cancer patients are coming forward and alleging that the chemotherapy drug Taxotere  has caused them permanent hair loss, a side effect the manufacturer did not clearly disclose.

Taxotere, manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis and sold in the U.S. since 1999, is used to treat patients with advanced or metastasized breast cancer, along with other cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, stomach (gastric) cancer and head/neck cancer. Most chemotherapy drugs are known to cause temporary hair loss, with hair slowly growing back after treatment ends. Unfortunately, that has not been the case with Taxotere users diagnosed with alopecia, a condition characterized by a loss of all body hair that might never return.

What Are the Symptoms of Alopecia?

If you received Taxotere while you were being treated for breast cancer and you are still waiting for your hair to grow back, you could be diagnosed with alopecia. The symptoms of alopecia are as follows:

  • Baldness
  • Lack of eyebrows
  • Lack of eyelashes
  • Absence of hair anywhere on the body (including underarms and genital region)

Should I File a Taxotere Lawsuit For My Permanent Hair Loss?

If you or a loved one have been treated with Taxotere for breast cancer, and have experienced permanent hair loss, you might have cause to sue the manufacturer for compensation for your pain and suffering. The attorneys at The Olinde Firm. are currently evaluating lawsuit claims on behalf of cancer patients who have been harmed by Taxotere.
