A serious motor vehicle accident involving two vans occurred in the French Quarter of New Orleans LA last week, causing the unfortunate death of an as-yet unidentified woman. According to New Orleans Police, the accident happened early Thursday morning in the Treme-Lafitte area.
Police have confirmed that the wreck involved two vans colliding near the intersection of Governor Nicholls Street and N. Claiborne Avenue. A 50-year-old female passenger in one of the vans was ejected from the vehicle, and was declared dead at the scene of the crash.
Many Questions Still Linger After The Van Accident
More details about the accident are not yet known to the public. Some of the interesting questions arising from the crash include whether the vans were traveling together or separately, where the vans were going at the time of the wreck, whether the woman was a paying customer, and lastly, whether the woman was wearing a seat belt.
Although the I-10 East exit ramp at Esplanade Avenue was closed for several hours along with parts of N. Claiborne Avenue for crews to clear the wreckage and investigate the accident, both reopened around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.
