A bizarre chain of events lead to a tragic death in a New Orleans car-truck accident on Monday. The strange wreck occurred around 9:00 a.m. in the 3000 block of Toledano Street, according to police who responded to the scene.
A man was leaning against a Ford F-150 pickup truck, talking with another man about an upcoming fishing trip, when a woman driving a brown-colored Pontiac Grand Prix veered out of control and hit the side of the truck. The force of the car’s collision forced the truck to tumble over, trapping the unlucky bystander underneath.
Medical crews rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but he died there as a result of his injuries. The other pedestrian bystander also sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, and the woman driving the Pontiac was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. Police are still unsure what caused the two-car accident.
